Mental illness is the second leading cause of human disability and premature death.
In Canada, mental health is the number one cause of disability, accounting for nearly 30% of disability claims and 70% of the total costs. Everyday, 500,000 Canadians (1.48% of the population)are absent from work due to psychiatric problems.
